campaign titled "Nourishing Our Nation", reaffirming Its commitment cto uplifting rural communities,
supporting sustainable daiy farming. and dellvering high-quality dairy nutrition t to households across
the courntry.
At the heart of the campalgn is the traditional milk can -a symbol of Sri Lanka's dairy heritage and a
ier emnblem of the journey from farm to table. It represents Kotmale's enduring connection to the
people and places that nourish the nation, while visually capturing the company's mission of deliverine
trusted nutrition through local, fresh milk.
Kotmale sources approximately 180,000 litres of fresh milk daily from over 17,000 smallholder
dairy farmers, making it the largest collector of fresh milk in Sri Lanka. By eliminating middlemen and
offering fair farmgate prices, the company has created a reliable source of income for farming families
while ensuring consistent quality for consumers.
Since its acquisition by Cargills (Ceylon) PLC in 2010, Kotmale has not only been fully integrated into the
broader Cargills portfolio but also revitalized with Cargills's philosophy of community-centric business
development - a philosophy that took root in 1999 when Cargills began working directly with
outgrower farmers. This commitment to doing good for the community and addressing its needs
through operations and investments was extended to Kotmale from the outset and has been a key
driver of its success and transformation over the past 15 years. It has helped expand Kotmale's
operationis, modernize its infrastructure, and strengthen its role as a catalyst for rural economic
empowerment
Today, Kotmale operates three ISO-certified dairy processing facilities that meet the highest quality
ano tood safety standards. Since 2010, the company has made significant investments in modern
technoloEY tO upgrade its facilities and systens, continuously improving product qualiy dnd ans
peraos witn best-in-class benchmarks, Kotmale was also the first in the Sri Lankan dairy sector
to digitallize its millk collection process through an automated system, improving transparency.

gOvernance goals.
Kotrnale makes its products accessible across the country through a wide-reaching distribution
network including modern trade outlets, over 55,000 general trade shops, and the food service
sector, while also serving export markets. This ensures that consumers from all corners of Sri Lanka
have access to wholesome, affordable dairy products.
With local milk production meeting only 40% of national demand, Kotmale plays a crucial role
in enhancing food security, reducing dependency on imports, and saving millions of dollars in foreign
exchange. Smallholder farmerswho account for nearly 95% of the country's dairy output benefit
